This cover was postmarked on 8 April 1994 at Vrede and catalogued as SAPO 6.3a. Its cachet featured two peace doves, issued just weeks before South Africa's first democratic elections on 27 April 1994. The choice of postmark town was a fitting touch, since Vrede is simply the Afrikaans word for peace. Sealed with no contents.
Description of the Cachet
