Every First Day Cover shown on this site is part of a private collection. The photographs of these covers, taken specifically for this site, are original work and belong to Southern Covers.

That said, the underlying stamp designs, cachets, and other printed artwork visible in those photographs may still be protected by copyright in their own right, generally held by the relevant postal authority, such as the South African Post Office, or the original artist, particularly for more recently issued covers. Some older material may reasonably have entered the public domain depending on its age, but this is not assumed uniformly across the whole collection.
